Halas Master Smithy

Winning Entry in the Daybreak (SOE) Halas Foundation Contest!

This is one of the more wealthy blacksmiths in the village.  He works when he wants in his own private shop attached to his home.  He’s not readily available for work, spending a lot of his time serving on the village council instead. So you must make an appointment and provide him with a job that challenges his skill.  Otherwise, take yourself and your piddly little ole project down to the town smithy instead. This Halasian is way too busy to be bothered with a Journeyman’s work.

This build includes a full blacksmith attached to the side of the house with its own separate entrance, a nice loft, living room, cozy fireplace, and lots of other custom pieces throughout.

Halas Butcher

Winning Entry in the Daybreak (SOE) Halas Foundation Contest!

This friendly Butcher can be found in the town square among the other typical shops.  He sells all kinds of meats and even keeps some cooked samples on hand.  He works hard, offers fair prices and quality meats.  Unfortunately, this means he has to live in his shop.  But don’t despair! The smell hardly bothers him any more.

This build includes a meat cellar, large loft, counter/display area, old lift, cozy fireplace custom voxel furniture and more.

Haunted Mine Maze

Halloween is our favorite holiday and with the new Halloween Party Island, we just knew we had to plan an event!  The Haunted Mine Maze consists of an underground maze, a party area where you can keep an eye on players progress through the maze, along with a full open bar.

party1

If running mazes just isn’t your thing (or maybe the queue line is just too long) please feel free to visit the Old Miner’s Graveyard outside for some fun with Trick & Treats!

When?

Saturday October 31, 7pm MT (9pm ET, 6pm PT)

Event is planned to last at least 1 hour and depending on interest, we may choose to go longer up to a maximum of 3 hours.  After that the maze will remain open for continued Halloween fun!  It will remain open as long as the island is online, or until we need to use our claims for another endeavor, which ever comes first.

Where?

Halloween Party Island: Search the gallery for either Haunted Mine Maze, Halloween, or Dhara,

Event Rules:

(You may click the images below to see a larger version.)

One player in the maze at a time.

Wait at the gate and when the green light is on you may enter. The timer starts when a player first enters from the queue line.  Pull  the lever to shut the door behind you. The timer ends when player appears at the ending gate.

entrance

Run the maze as fast as you can, but be warned, this maze is not for the faint-hearted 😉

haunted12

Upon finishing your run, pull the lever to open the exit gate.

Please check that either Dhara or FryCaptain have recorded your name and time before you leave.  We will be on the premises for the entire event. Dhara will be wandering around tending to guests and various tasks and FryCaptain should be in the Control Booth most of the time.

Finally, please do not use your grappling hook during the event.

Displays:

Maze Timer: Displays a player’s current time.

Time to Beat: Displays the best time of the night. Players must complete the maze by 9 minutes and 59 seconds.

Claimdar: Displays the current position of the player in the maze.

Fall Meter: Displays the downward decent of unfortunate players (or guests).

diplays

Prizes:

The three players with the lowest times will each get one $10 Daybreak Cash code. Winning codes will be sent via in-game email by default at the end of the event.  If you prefer delivery via email, or another method, please give those details to Dhara or FryCaptain.

We would like to thank Emily and the Community Team at Daybreak for donating these prizes!

Disclaimers:

This maze and the displays use a fair amount of linking and triggering elements. Some players with lower-end systems might show a decrease in FPS.  We have done our best to optimize these elements to ensure that most players should be able to run the maze just fine, however, we can’t guarantee that any one player will be able to play comfortably or encounter quirks due to the wide variety of systems available.

The timer Fry created is only 99% perfect. Some slight variances may (or may not) occur.  As you know, this game is in beta and we are still on our first iteration of the linking and triggering elements. Our testing thus far has shown that these variances are minimal, however if you believe that your time is way off base, just let us know and we will might be able to view one of the streams to verify. In some instances a consolation prize could be awarded at the discretion of either Dhara or FryCaptain.

Enter at your own risk. We take no responsibility for any injuries or deaths!

Rob My Bank

Congratulations to Entilzar who cracked our locks in short order.  He cracked all four safe deposit boxes and won 100k copper!

Jan 18, 2015

Hi guys! FryCaptain and I have finally finished the L&T Combination lock we have been working on. We have set up some safe deposit boxes in the bank in Easthaven and we want to know if they are actually as secure as we think they are. So….we are inviting everyone to come rob our bank! You could win up to 100k copper!

Starting at 11:00pm (MT) tonight until next Saturday night at midnight, we will have filled all four safe deposit boxes with 25k copper each. First one to hack in one of the boxes gets that copper! Hack all four and take it all!

If you DO manage to hack in, we would be VERY grateful if you will use the feedback button on the claim to let us know how you did it.

Check out this video to see the bank in action:

Takish Outpost

Winning Entry in the Daybreak (SOE) Takish Foundation Contest!

Welcome to my Takish Outpost with Guard Towers!  The outpost spans over 12 claims and has hollow walls where you can teleport to the front alcoves or to the top of the corner towers. The front gate is equipped with a force field on each side to keep out visitors who have been stopped at the checkpoint. Two giant towers hovering above are easily accessed via teleporters in the outbuildings inside of the outpost and can accommodate a lot of fighters on the spiral walkways. My main goal here was to create not only a beautiful outpost, but one that was actually defensible. Soldiers will be able to access all critical positions quickly and efficiently.

Ogre Guild Hall

Winning Entry in the SOE Ogre Foundation Contest!

This 7-Claim structure was built to nestle into a mountain top slope with three tiered levels. On the main floor the  guild hall has  a main meeting area complete with VIP seating, a special chair for the Grand Poobah, a small kitchen and eating area as well as two separate areas for smaller meetings! Upstairs you will find tons of room for guild members to gather with almost every spot having a good view of below.  You will also find my interpretation of what an Ogre restroom might look like!  On the top floor there is yet more standing room for guild members and an awning system to cover the ventilation grates that allow for plenty of fresh air and light.  This claim is giant so there is a lot more to see.  I have way too many screenshots below!

Special thanks to FryCaptain for pitching in at the last moment to help me finish this build up in time!!

I hope you enjoyed learning more about my Ogre Guild Hall. Feel free to tour it in person on the Kerran Foundation Island, Coming Soon™

FryCaptain’s Combination Lock v5

This is FryCaptain’ s Combination Lock v5.  This purpose of this page is to walk people through the installation process.

This combination lock can be hooked up to any interactive prop that allows linking.  You can set the 5 number combination of your choice.  You must get the bundle with the input panel for best results.  Or you can choose any of FryCaptain’s Input Panels that will be listed separately as long as they are marked as version 5 (v5).

Installation Video:

Notes:

1.  Do NOT try to place without all of the props available in your inventory! The links will not work if you do.

2. We forgot to add in the video that you should right click your door and “break” the little lock on the upper right of that blue menu so other players cannot click your door.

3. If you are having trouble, try the master reset button.  It’s the yellow one on the top row.  If that doesn’t work, then place another copy of your template.  Finally, feel free to contact us if you need help!!

4. This lock is the first one we have built using the first iteration of Linking & Triggering.  We have done everything possible to deal with some of the bugs that are happening in the game at this time. Sometimes the server bounce every morning can cause issues and sometimes props will just decide to move on their own and you have to move them back.  Not a lot we can do about some of those things.  However, we will be providing updates to this lock as new buttons and tech become available. When we update this particular lock we will be more than happy to provide anyone who has purchased this v5.0 lock from the studio a free upgrade to the new v5.x lock.  Contact either Dhara or FryCaptain in game, post in the comments below,  or post on our support forum for assistance.

5. Pay attention to the placement of your combination lock! We would recommend putting it underground so it can’t be found by visitors at all. At least place it in a building/room with walls at least three voxels thick (or put an empty space in between your inner and outer wall). Do not put buttons that open doors from the inside on an outside wall either. Until we get the clipping bug fixed where folks can see inside and sometimes almost “step inside” a wall or door prop, these are the measures we recommend to keep your building as secure as possible.

Water of Gold Winery

Winning Entry in the SOE Kerran Foundation Contest!

The Water of Gold Winery was built for the EQN Kerran Workshop and was entered into the Kerran Foundation Museum Competition.  One of the first things you notice about this build is the quaint grape vineyard located off to the side that is bursting with grapes and ready for harvest.  Once you pass through the grand entrance you will find a grape press, a lift, and plenty of room for storage.  The next floor holds an area to create and bottle wine, an area to offload from the lift, lots of custom shelving for the different varieties of wine and access to the top floor. The top floor is a very special, open air wine tasting room inspired from a modern Asian tea room that allows for the customary floor-seating but has built in leg space below the tables for added comfort and also includes an awesome ceiling fan to help keep a nice breeze passing through on a hot jungle afternoon.   To top it all off, a beautiful glowing orb surrounded by Kerran inspired stars gives the build a bit of a mystical quality.
